Pavlov’s House · Privacy policy

Your game. Your privacy.

How we handle information when you play Pavlov’s House, and how you can control optional usage statistics.

Effective date: 23 October 2026

Usage statistics are optional. You can play the full game without sharing analytics. If you opt in, we use Unity Analytics’ standard usage statistics to understand how often, for how long and on which devices the game is used, and to improve it.

Your choice can change. Open Settings → Usage Statistics → Manage to stop sharing statistics or request deletion.

1. Who we are

Richard Berger, trading as Bookmark Games, is the UK developer and data controller for the information we process through Pavlov’s House. Contact us at [email protected].

This policy covers versions of Pavlov’s House with the Usage Statistics controls described here, including TestFlight versions. It does not cover other Bookmark Games titles or the separate services provided by Apple, Steam or our website host.

2. Data on your device

The game stores saved games, high scores and settings on your device so you can resume play and keep your preferences. It also stores your analytics choice and information needed to handle deletion requests. Saved-game contents are not uploaded through our analytics reporting.

Steam versions record and synchronize achievements with Steam. Your operating system or platform may separately back up game data or collect platform diagnostics under its own settings and privacy policy.

3. Optional analytics

With your consent, the game uses Unity Analytics’ standard reporting to collect application usage and technical information. This helps us understand how many people play, how often and for how long, and on which devices and platforms. Nothing is collected until you choose Allow, and declining does not affect gameplay. Information from before you opted in is not sent.

Reporting includes:

  • When the game is started, while it is running and when it is closed (application sessions), and whether this is the first launch of this installation.
  • Platform, operating-system version, game version, app identifier, device model and hardware details (such as processor, graphics, memory and screen size), battery level, and the device’s language and region setting.
  • Installation/user and session identifiers and event timestamps. Unity receives your IP address when the game connects to its service and uses it to derive approximate location (country); on Apple devices its standard data also includes the identifier for vendor (IDFV).

The game does not report your gameplay: no difficulty, scores, results, tutorial progress, turn progress or game completion. “Game started” and “game ended” in Unity’s reports mean opening and closing the app, not starting or finishing a battle.

These identifiers make the information pseudonymous rather than anonymous. The reporting does not include your name, email address, Steam account ID, payment details, free-text messages or saved-game contents.

We use this reporting to improve the game, not to target advertising or make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on you. Our legal basis for optional analytics and related storage/access is your consent.

4. Your choices and deletion

Use Settings → Usage Statistics → Manage to change your choice. Withdrawing consent stops future optional collection without affecting earlier processing carried out with your consent.

Request Deletion stops collection and asks Unity to remove analytics associated with this installation. An offline request is retained for retry; confirmation that a request was received does not mean deletion has finished.

TestFlight and public-release versions report to the same statistics dataset, so a request from either covers statistics from that installation. Each installation and device has its own identifiers: if you have used more than one device, request deletion on each, or contact us for help with a wider request.

Request deletion before uninstalling or clearing app data where possible, as doing so can remove an unsent request and change the identifiers needed to locate records. The game warns if allowing statistics again would cancel an undelivered deletion request.

5. Providers and international transfers

Unity provides our analytics service and processes analytics on our behalf. We access usage statistics and reports through Unity’s dashboard. Unity’s processing is subject to the applicable service terms and Data Processing Addendum. Its Game Player and App User Privacy Policy explains its services and privacy practices.

Unity and its providers may process information outside the UK, including in the United States. Unity describes safeguards for these transfers, including adequacy decisions and standard contractual clauses, in its privacy policy. Contact us for further information about the safeguards applicable to our service.

Apple and Steam separately handle purchases, platform accounts and beta-testing information under their own policies. If you contact us by email, we process your message and contact details to respond and resolve your request, based on our legitimate interests in providing support and, where applicable, our legal obligations.

6. How long information is kept

Local progress and settings remain until removed or replaced by the game, you or your platform. Deleting a local save does not delete analytics already uploaded.

Unity documents a 13-month retention period for raw Analytics events. Dashboard metrics and user-profile data may be retained until removal is requested by the player or developer. Deletion requests are processed by Unity for the relevant dataset. See Unity’s Analytics FAQ.

We retain support correspondence for as long as reasonably needed to handle the enquiry, follow up on it and meet applicable record-keeping obligations.

7. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live and the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct or erase your personal information, restrict or object to its use, receive a portable copy, and withdraw consent. Email [email protected] to exercise your rights. We may need information to verify your request and locate the relevant records; please do not send passwords or payment details.

You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. In the UK, this is the Information Commissioner’s Office.

8. Changes and contact

We will update this policy when our practices change and revise its effective date. Where required, we will notify you of material changes or ask for new consent.

For privacy questions or requests, contact Richard Berger, trading as Bookmark Games, at [email protected].
